"Swam" Almost Didn't Happen!

Now that Sam and Swift (better known as "Swam") have gotten married, I thought I might as well tell you that the couple almost didn't happen.

When I started writing All is Fair in Love and War, I had a very rough sketch of what would happe. I just knew the "end game". Kate and Noah would obviously be together, but I also originally thought that Charlie and Sam would get together when Charlie was about twenty.

However, when I got into the story, that fell apart. Charlie needed someone less "Cousin-y", and I didn't want to wait seven years for her to find her end game person. So, perfect Aiden was introduced, and it went on from there. If you'll notice, there is a bit of a hint that Charlie and Sam could have been in the chapter where she meets Aiden.

After Charlie had a better match, what was Sam supposed to do?

Originally, he was going to be the single friend who was constantly going from girl to girl.

Swift was a very last minute addition, but I loved her. She added so much to the story, and I am so happy they ended up together.

Especially since they are the happy couple starting a family...
